Venture Out

On November 1 at 9a, we’ll all leave the building together and serve our community in place of our regular worship gathering!


On that day:

We will have one worship service only (9:00a), and then our entire congregation will step out together and serve for the remainder of the morning. This will be a day to worship God not just with our voices, but with our hands and hearts! Whether you’re planting flowers, packing meals, or painting walls, every act of service is an act of worship. We are excited to Venture Out together!

FAQs


  • Are the t-shirts different than last year?

    In an effort to use our assets for serving projects rather than our outfits, we are using the same shirts as last year! If your shirt has paint or stains on it from last year...even better! If you need a different size or didn't get a shirt last year, please feel free to grab a shirt at the Venture Out kiosk in the lobby.

  • What time does service start?

    Service will start at 9a, with check-in starting at 8:30a in the lobby.

  • Where do I sit for service?

    Sit with your serving group! A map of the auditorium will be sent out the week before November 1 letting you know where they will be.

  • Are we taking communion?

    Yes, we will take communion altogether during our gathering service before heading out to our individual projects.

  • How do I know what project I’m doing?
    • If you are currently involved in a Venture group, you’ll be serving together. Your group’s serve champion is currrently planning your project. Let them know if you have thoughts or questions!
    • If you are not currently in a group, you we will hand-pick a project for you! Let us know of any comments or concerns on your Venture Out registration. You will hear back from us a few weeks before Venture Out to confirm your project details.
  • Is there children’s programming during Venture Out?

    The children's programming during Venture Out is Venture Out! :) Take your kids with you if you’re able! Teach them what its like to serve...Have fun together!


    There will be childcare at the church for kids ages 0-5. Childcare check-in starts at 8:45a and ends at 1p sharp. Please make sure your kids are picked up by 1p. 8:45a-1p childcare might be the most difficult volunteer project of all on this day! Please don't make it a bad experience for those volunteers by leaving your kids there longer than 1p.

  • Should my serving group plan to meet for a meal afterwards to debrief our experience?

    Absolutely! Getting to hear about how God is working in the hearts of your friends might just be your favorite part of the day.

  • What is the general timeline of the day?

    Plan to be engaged in Venture Out from 9a-12:30p. Projects should wrap up around 12:30p to ensure parents have time to pick up their kids from the church.

  • What is the vibe of this day?

    Fun, light-hearted, all-hands-on-deck, teamwork makes the dream work...whatever PUMPS YOU UP TO SERVE! Really, though, it should be a great experience for everyone involved. Feel free to laugh, smile, and work hard!
